About Us

The Monomonac Lake Property Owners Association (MLPOA) is a volunteer-led, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1970 by property owners and community members united by a shared commitment to protecting Lake Monomonac’s health, natural beauty, and quality of life. Serving residents and stakeholders in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts, MLPOA works proactively to preserve and enhance this unique interstate lake.

A core focus of the Association is water quality. Since 1983, MLPOA has actively managed water quality monitoring programs, building a comprehensive, long-term data set that helps guide watershed activities and identify emerging trends. This work supports informed action on critical issues such as cyanobacteria blooms, invasive species, milfoil control, shoreline development, and wildlife habitat.

Through education, collaboration, and sustained commitment, MLPOA strives to protect Lake Monomonac for today and for generations to come. We encourage you to become a member, stay informed, attend our annual meeting, and join us in the shared responsibility of preserving this treasured lake.

Our Mission

To preserve and protect the natural beauty, water quality, and recreational value of Lake Monomonac and its surrounding watershed, promote responsible enjoyment of the lake, support public safety and law enforcement, educate the community about lake stewardship, and manage resources in service of these goals for the benefit of current and future generations.
